My grandson is due to be born End of August / early September this year. Grandpa decided he would need something to play with when he gets a little bit older. I like the look of the older Mack trucks and drew the plans in SketchUp from a blueprint that I found on the internet as well as a lot of pictures supplied by Google.

I decided to add toy blocks as the cargo to make it a bit more interesting for the future young trucker, so that he may add building skills to his life experience. I was gifted a bag of floor blocks a few years ago and decided that would make ideal wooden toy blocks.

I cut the floor blocks to a few different shapes and sizes to fit into the cargo hold of the trailer.

In the end there are a total of 333 building blocks packed into four layers in the trailer. To load and offload the cargo I made the roof and back door removable. They are kept snugly in place with dowel pins.

Very timber mixture and combinations George.
A great amount of detail in the Mack prime mover.
I love the lid on the trailer for the block storage, top marks sir.

And congratulations on the little bloke, hoping he arrives safe & sound.

Really nice build, with the details on the rig. The trailer is a great idea, now you have a puzzle the load it. Getting all those pieces in the right place to get the lid on.

Grandpa has opened the shop early, and I see many years in your future to build more like this. Congratulations on a new future arrival.

I like the idea of the trailer being used as a storage box. Very nice!
