I commented on a project by Pottz a few weeks (months?) ago. He pointed out to me that I hadn’t posted a project in quite a while. Well, he was right, only I didn’t think it had been 6 years. I guess I belong to procrastinators anonymous. Oh well, here goes.

This is called a Shark Tooth Bowl. It was in one of the last issues of Dennis Daudelin’s defunct Woodturning Online magazine. So, I gave it a shot with a piece of mesquite I had laying around. It’s not perfect, I always know where my mistakes are. I figured out a couple of things while turning this that I will use when I turn another one. It didn’t turn out bad, just not up to my expectations. For one thing it needs to be a bit thinner but I got a bit spooked by those teeth spinning around. Those things are SHARP!

It’s 4” tall by 6 1/2” long. Finished with natural color Watco.

Sorry about the photo quality. I’m terrible at photography.

I agree with the candy storage! Gotta think twice about trying to sneak a piece. At least don’t be looking around for someone watching and instead watch where you hand is. 8^)

Nice spin on tradition!

Hey Joe, you missed our meeting last night.

MrWolfe, it was fun and interesting to do. Can’t wait to try another one.

pottz & splintergroup, As a candy dish that just might help me keep my mitts out of it.

Glad everyone liked it.
