I was going through my scrap pile the other day and found a lot of short pieces that I really didn’t know what to do with. I have made a lot of baseball bats over the years(most of them I had engraved for commemorative occasions) so I decided to make a little display for the hallway. They are about 9” long and are from left to right:
Tamboti
Cocabolo
Teak
White oak
Ipe
Purple Heart
Tigerwood
Angelica Pedra
Padauk
The full size bat to the right is Cocabolo(I know, a little extravagant use for a pricy piece of wood but as far as I know
I am the only Lumberjock with a full size Cocabolo bat)
Thanks for looking.

I’ve made quite a few of them(I called them fish wackers) in a 12”-14” version. Fish don’t know what hit ‘em when they get smacked by a piece of Ipe.
