Veneering Over Complex Curve Without a Vacuum Press

I just wanted to share the adaptation I made to a cauls and clamp type veneer press. The addition of a piece of rigid foam insulation expands the possibilities of the type of projects you can bond veneer to without using a vacuum press bag. This version of my veneer press is mostly for guitar bodies but I have veneered interior car parts and curved draw fronts. Even laminated a few iphone cases. I’m happy to answer any questions about the use or construction. Tell me what you think.

I always wondered if a tightly closed off bag of H2O wouldn’t work. I guess seeing this it would do just fine.
