I have seen a bunch of these on YouTube made a few different ways. I’ve always wanted to do a cpl of them. One for me and one for my Jarhead buddy. Being Ex-Navy myself the harrassment between us never stops.

These proved to be challenging and time consuming to which I was a little surprised. Made them out of 2 × 4 s. Carved the waviness with an Arbor tech disc. ( What a beast) & alot of sanding. Ugh. Double taping to do the burned stripes. I tried to carve stars but hated how it looked so I went with decals.
I used edge sealer on stars, its what we use on Our Aircraft to keep placards on. Sprayed with 7 coats of lacquer.
Thx for looking all comments welcome.

BIG THANKS everyone!!!!!! I love this country as many do!!! It was an honor serving….

The best quote I have ever seen was , ” If you can’t stand behind our troops then get in front of them on the battlefield !!!!! This I suspect is true with all my friends on here & abroad! God Bless!

This is a perfect job for a CNC machine with a ball mill. The wave of the surface is the hard part as far as I’m concerned…but there are ways to do. The stars can be done with a V bit engraving. I have done a flat flag via CNC…took only 2 hrs to cut (still alot of dust,LOL). It took me longer to model the flag in Fusion 360, but once I had it done, I’ve made three in a matter of hours.

I Like Them! I can imagine the sanding after the Arbor Tec disk.

Thank You for your service, from an old Navy Airdale.
