Cottonwood pair

This cottonwood came from southern Alberta. I,ve had this wood in my wood pile for several years and finally got creative juices going to carve this pair. The colour pattern is the centre of the log. One boot has a narrow heel so it is for a female while the other boot has male tendencies.
Aspen wood is white in colour.
Finished with my shellac alcohol mixture.

Nice work!
I’ve been watching a lot a metal detecting videos and they some times find toe and heal protectors in the ground from 200 years ago. I was just thinking this would be a cool thing to add to one of your boots that really looks old.
