Project Information

This watch box was commissioned as a gift for the client's husband. She really wanted a turquoise inlay in the lid and the piece of white oak that I had was the best knot I could find. The box is highly figured curly maple, the splines are white oak to match the lid, the hinges are Brusso and the finish is spayed lacquer to prevent ambering. The dividers are soft maple and the bottom is cherry plywood covered with a soft grey vinyl. The pillows were sown by my better half.

Sometimes it's the biggest "flaws" that make the huge scores. Adding the knot made the box. I like the interior. Guy must have a lot of watches :)

The nice knots are really hard to find except, of course, when you don't want them.
