Part two of Mama’s new coffee table – she wanted me to post a couple of pictures with it on our Turkish rug, which just came back from a professional cleaning and light restoration. She chose the wood ( western red cedar ) and thought it would be pretty good match. I think she did and outstanding job in selecting this particular piece!

Western Red Cedar, approximately 4 ft long by 16 to 18 in wide and about 1 and 1/4 in thick. Live edge, no right angles and several coats of Arm-R-Seal satin finish. 1/2-in and 3/4-in black pipe plumbing fixtures and pipe used for the leg assembly. Two coats of rustoleum satin black and satin clear finish.

Sometimes it’s the simplest stuff that winds up looking gorgeous and bringing the most happiness!

Table turned out very nice.

You have a nice collection of projects in your projects page.

What years were you active duty?

Thanks for posting.

Thank you, Bill

I’ve enjoyed making a lot of different things, over the years and am hoping to reclaim my woodworking ambition and get back at it again! I like to make things that are as useful as they are beautiful and wood gives me a huge range of options! This coffee table is, I hope, the first in a long line of projects!

I served in the USAF from January 1985 through August 2008, been to “a few” places along the way and retired out of Offutt AFB, in Bellevue, Nebraska.

I’ll post my last project (and more?), from a couple years back. This coffee table is, I hope, the first in a long line of projects!
