I’ve had this slab in my garage since 2009. It was steamed and kiln dried when I got it. I owe it all to Lumberjocks.

I used the one in the middle for this project. I bought a new Diablo blade for my circular saw. Cuts like butter.

I think they will be okay on the porch. It will only get a little early morning sun and won’t get rain or snow. They will get a lot of DoorDash and Amazon deliveries. I gotta paint those chairs this year.

There is a knot that went all the way through, I thought about a bowtie but decided to fill with Starbond Black CA glue. Much better than epoxy for small jobs.

I put in 1/4” x 20 steel inserts, and drilled oversize holes in the hairpin leg bases, hoping it will allow for wood movement.

Walnut. 18” x 36” and 18” x 18” 5 coats of brush on poly

EXCELLENT Hairy!!! Beautiful Finish and a great grain and swirl in the wood.
