Cholla cactus wood (pronounced Choy-ya) cast in Alumilite clear slow resin and turned into a vase on my lathe.

I first treated the cholla wood with Cactus Juice Stabilizing Resin.

Very cool looking vase with excellent clarity. I wanted to do this for a tumbler but can not find a cholla with a larger diameter.

Neat effect TD!

The exposed cholla really pops with the colors and top/bottom bands! Using the “cactus juice” was very appropriate! 8^)
