A few items for a fund raising silent auction held each year at our ship reunions for USS Conserver ARS-39. A bit of background for those of you that aren’t Navy veterans. Ship’s rockers were sewn on the left shoulder of all dress uniforms. I’m sure it helped to return wayward sailors to their ship’s when they were not able to communicate that to the shore patrol. The ARS in ARS-39 describes the mission of the ship, Auxiliary Rescue and Salvage. The wall plaques are a representation of the hull number of the bow of the ship. Conserver had about a dozen Navy divers aboard.
