These benches, back rests, and table are part of my sauna suite. We sit or lay on the benches between laps in the sauna and shower. They’re made from black ash and construction features pegged mortise and tenon joints. The bench slats are screwed from below with stainless steel screws. The back rest slats are nailed in place with 15-gauge stainless steel finish nails. Each piece is finished with three coats of marine varnish. Follow the link to read more about this build in my blog, Furnishing a Sauna Suite.

Thanks! It’s been nice to deploy each feature. We started with the sauna and no shower. Benches were next and finally the back rests. It made us appreciate the entire sauna suite. All that remains is to build a vanity base for the toilet room.
