I love them WWII aircraft. Had dozens of models hanging from the ceiling as a kid just like that.

Looks like very detailed work!

If not for the ceiling colour you’d swear it was really flying.

I love it. Those WWII aircraft were awesome. My favorites are the P51D and the P38L.

Thanks all. It is all balsa wood. I wanted to paint the ceiling blue with some clouds but wife said no. I hope to get as good as you guys.

Beautiful, well done.
As a boy one would have loved to look up and the ceiling and dream away there.
Best thoughts,

A sky blue ceiling would be a great addition for displays. I have heard that the blue repels spiders, maybe a selling point for the wife.

I grew up during the moon missions, so I was into rockets. My dad found wallpaper which was the moon. So I had one wall and part of another which was a moon scape, cut out. Then hung the rockets.

Brings back some memories.

Pappy Boyington would be proud! I used to draw pictures of Corsairs when I was a kid, it was my favorite fighter.

Great job- more photos is always appreciated.

Did you design this yourself or is it a T & J plan? You commented that one of your next projects would be a Sherman….that has been a back burner project for me for several years.

Thanks for posting.

When I was a kid, others were into model cars. I was into planes, subs, warships and such. I had a bunch of them. This one looks a lot like a hellcat that I had. Is it the same/similar? Those wings sort of give it away.

Very Cool, now you need a Zeke for him to chase. Nice job!

Thanks again for the kind words. A friend got an RC model. I got the plan when he was done used balsa wood. If any one has plans for a sherman please contact me. I will try the spider thing. I grew up in the 60 rockets and moon shots were great.
