Chess table. Legs are made of walnut, chessboard are ash and walnut and the frame is sycamore. The drawer fronts are Brazilian cherry leftovers. Finish is a mixture of poly, turpentine and bees wax.
I have been working on turning the ♟ pieces but it is not easy, so work in progress.

Okay, that’s just nice. It may be because I like wood choices and finishing that aren’t that ‘wood under glass’ look. It looks very old worldly. It belongs beside one of those old world wooden globes you see in turn of the century, 1900’s that is, reading rooms.
