I mixed a 350 Mesh metal powder with resin at a 3 to 1 ratio and spray it on with a large nozzle (2.3 mm) paint gun. Several hours later, after it’s set, I sand the resin off using steel wool and wire brush. The results makes it look like it was casted.

Oops just realised I had already asked about finishing vide the footballer.
I didn’t pick up on it until I read the text reply an thought that process sounded familiar
Fascinating work,... have you considered doing a process blog on it.
