The idea for this project was sent to me by a family member. I used wood scraps I found in the shop – walnut or maple for the rear mountain, tiger maple for the hill on the left (from my wife’s grandfather’s barn), oak for the front hill, blood wood for the stone and the base is cherry. The cross is made from recycled oak from church pews from a church renovation.

A simple picture of a life changing event!

Very nicely done, and a great reminder. The world needs to really get back to the basics of life. Great job.

That is a great mix of woods, and that it is used wood that has been reformed hints at the profound nature of your topic :)

You got one good photo anyway. Hard to see the others…

Interesting project, nicely done…

Beautiful work, clearly inspired. I like the one with the walnut best, it makes the cave stand out. Thanks for sharing this, it made me smile.

awesome, fawig !!
well balanced, nice design and as Bob said, very inspirational.
I wish I had seen it before Easter as it would have made some great gifts.
if you have no objections, I would like to use the design for next year.
congrats on the DT3 !! it is well deserved.

Thank you all for the kind words.

John Smith, of course you (or anyone else) can use the design!
