Live edge Koa LED Lamp

This is the second Koa lamp however it is by far (to me) the most attractive. I managed to get a 3rd resin ring to end before the top of the shade and allow light to eminate more than usual.
There are several places that the koa curly shows in the shade but I couldn’t capture it in a picture because of the angles and light.
Overall dimensions are 16” tall including the finial. The shade is 6” with a 9 1/4” dia. bottom. The riser is 8” high x 2” square with a 3/4” x 2 1/4” square to accept the 4” harp. The base is from one board and about 5” ‘square’ with a live edge in 2 sides.
I never mentioned the hardware before but the power cord is an 8’ brown with a built in rocker switch wired to a candleabra socket and a 4” harp. The led is a 5 watt and gives the light of a 60 watt because it has diodes 360 degrees and cost practically nothing to operate.
Below is a few pics of the base and riser showing the spectacular grain pattern of the Koa.

Thanks for looking and

Very well done! This second one is a more pleasing shade of brown, at least to my eyes. What are you using for finish?

More awesomeness Dick! Never seen Koa bark, it looks stable and thin enough so it should stay put.

I was looking through the box of koa my SIL gave me, all fairly bland compared to what you have, love the banding!

Thanks, I was surprised at how tight the bark was and that’s what prompted me to use it. Hope it doesn’t come back and bite me.

Fantastic combination of beautiful wood and resin to make great accent lamp. Great work Dick.

Spectacular, good choice of a word for this. I can see the curl in the base of the third picture, I bet it looks much better in front of you. Nice work Dick.
