Cherry box with an overall scallop design. I wanted to make it look like an old leather bag…leather handle and red flock on the inside. Finished with varnish oil and wax.

Did you use an adz to create the texture? Stunning

Success!
Great build, the texture work is tops.
How is the lid indexed with the box, stepped?

Beautiful box. I love the leather handle as it give it a classics look. It’s always about the details.

I’ve scalloped a few pieces before and never was quite satisfied with the results. This one I traced an arc across the front and followed it as a pattern which really made an improvement I think.
The top has an 1/8” cutout from the inner plug that indexes nicely with some sanding.
Thanks for all the positive comments.
