Scrap wood plane till

I had a shelf of planes that I wanted to consolidate and allow me to better see them. Started out with some pine scraps but routed a groove iron the wrong side of one piece so that forced me to move to some red oak for the frame. I had a dreadful time with cutting my dovetails at first but did improve with the practice. Then I used some saw dust & glue to make some “butter” to cover my rough dovetails only to find that the mixture oxidizes the metal in my scraper and turns black as I work it in. The roughest tails now have a dark inlay as a “feature” now. After realizing some planes are weighted differently I had to resort to adding rare earth magnets to provide added support. The 1/4” edge supports are only pin nailed in so modification can be done without destroying the case. This gives me a good layout plan for the new one that will be somewhere down this journey. Next up is a saw till.

Looks good, I’m still thinking about how to add the block planes to my last Till :)

That’s exactly what I need. Simple, efficient and practical.
