A friend gave me a fence post he got from a farm back in Missouri. He said the post was there since he was a small boy, some 60 years ago. It is Osage Orange and I counted 130 annual rings. That means the tree was over 190 years old. It had a very nice patina on the outside so I decided to make a picture frame with a live edge. The frame is wrapped with a much younger peace of black walnut.

Cool idea, very nicely done! I might have to try that if I run across the right piece of wood.

That is beautiful and clever. The live edge you used has just the right amount of irregularity to it.

I really like the way you have the live edge positioned! Make for an excellent inside border when the natural taper of the edge is ideal for that use.

Well done!
