For my first ever Lumberjocks swap i was assigned Earl and created two toy boats.
Wood species include maple, spanish cedar, meranti, black walnut, and hickory
The one smoke stack is a wine cork with a wooden base- seemed to be a good fit

Steps were simple; cutting & shaping
Sanding ( i progressed from 150 grit to 400 )
Then i burned the windows in and applied mineral oil
I ended up making a template of leather to keep the window locations spaced out equally on the second boat
Keeping the upper and middle pieces centered was a challenge.
Usually I use linseed oil but for this i used mineral oil in case a small child plays with them.

Wise choice using mineral oil. I can definitely see Earl trying to chew on these.
