Display shelves

Last year my daughter ask if I could make her an open display shelve case for her birthday. I can’t say how old she is she may see this posting. She had a sketch of what she wanted and the size 36”X 30” X 14”. I added a few details like the “V” groves in the corner posts, the pointed ends. and thin decorative strips on the sides. As it turns out she was so happy with it she wanted a second one for her upcoming birthday. I hadn’t kept any detail drawings so I had to bring the first one back to the shop to copy.

All the frame work is all round mortise and tenon construction, which helps justify the money I spent on my Panto Router machine two years ago. It has been a fun devise to use.

Nice and “airy” Les!

What did you do for the back? Ship lapped?

Great idea with the slats for the sides, nice and open as you describe. You can go as deep as you want and it doesn’t get dark like a traditional sided book case gets (plus you save a ton of lumber 8^)

I can see why She wants a set, fine work!

This is a very cool piece!!! I like the design, not something you see everyday.

Very nice design.

I am a bit of a pack rat, and I was flipping through some patterns this evening and for a few simple sketches of past projects.

I like the open style and the points on the top of the spires.

Very nicely done, you always know its a hit when they want a second one. I’m glad your panarouter is useful for this project.

I appreciate the responses.

I don’t post often and I try to make it unique and give others something to consider trying themselves.
