Hello everyone. I pray that you all are well. We’ve all heard that necessity is the mother of invention. Well, in this case I didn’t invent squat! As with many of you, I had a need and looked to others for a solution to that need. In this case the need was to stand an interior door on edge so that I could do some hand plane work to it. Thus, the need for the door bucks. These door bucks are not my design. I’m simply copying someone else’s work. I like this design because it’s super simple (cause I’m super lazy) and the bucks can be made from stuff you probably have laying around the shop. As usual, I made a video of the build. Maybe it will help you should such a need arise. Take care.

Mads – Thanks. Door bucks are an old carpenter’s device. Never needed any until now. Take care.

I’ll build a set when I need them, even I’m not really old…

Thanks.

Mads – LOL! You and I are the same age, pretty close anyway! I’ll say it. I am old! My body tells me that every day.

I also want to create an unusual and interesting door for our living room. I thought about sliding doors, but it’s too complicated for me.

By the way what unusual door designs do you know? Maybe you can share something for me? I made a research in internet and found such examples https://worldinsidepictures.com/unusual-interior-doors-top-10-models-made-of-glass-wood-and-plastic/ what do you think about them? Would you do something like this at home?

Letmero – The designs of the doors on the website you posted are very interesting. Those are certainly custom doors. Custom doors can be tricky to make. I have not made any other doors other than the one shown in the video. I’m sorry that I can’t be of much help. I hope that you are able to come up with a door that fits your need. Thanks for reading my blog and take care.
