I finally finished this truck and let me tell you this one was a challenge. There are so many angles and small parts, I have over 200 hours into it. The louvers in the hood vents and grill are all separate pieces. Each tire and wheel have 28 pieces. The body is made of maple and the fenders and trim are Cherry. This was a challenge, but at the same time it was fun to build.

I like how even the interior is detailed, really nice work!

I will admit however that my eyes were first drawn to the drawer cabinets on the sides, checking out the pulls and even drawer gap around the face 8^)

Congrats Rich on your Editors Choice, a well deserved honer. You have more detail on this than I have on my car. Well done.

Congrats on the EC, this is an amazing build, so much detail and everything looks to be joined perfectly. No gaps, no glue residue. The wood choices go well together and even the grain directions are well thought out. I don’t know how you model makers build these things with such detail on pieces you need to hold with tweezers. This deserves the “Editor’s Choice” and I’m surprised that it only took 200 hours.

Awesome build – details to the max and wood colors seem to imitate sandy paint for desert use. Congrats all around

Beautiful job ’55... having experienecd some T & J models in the past, I can appreciate the effort and the intricate pieces that make up some of their models.

On my bucket list, however, currently battling with the half-track (amongst distractions)!
