Dresser for Son-in-law. He provided a drawing, request for ball bearing glides, and color choice; I had to figure out the rest. Red oak primary wood; pine drawer boxes.

What a beauty. Fantastic choice of wood. That will be passed down for generations with your story.

Looks like a fine and solid build, well done!

Are your side panels solid wood or ply?

Thanks to all for the kind words.

Sides and back panels are 1/4” ply. Inexpensive big box ply at that; gave me fits in the finishing process. I’ll not post any closeups! :)

This thing weighs a ton. Son in law wanted those ball bearing slides, and so 10 pairs of those 22” slides weigh 30 pounds on their own. The slides also caused me to do some structural design so they could be supported.

Drawer boxes are finger-jointed. My experience with other joints on drawers is not good. These are also the widest drawers I’ve ever done. Bottom 3 boxes are right at 38 inches wide. Wider drawers make for fussy drawer installs.
