Doing this Steampunk stuff is fun. I model this in ZBrush, using just their stock insert brushes. I just use junk wood in my shop, sliced to do double-sided cuts in Aspire to get toolpaths for the CNC Machine. I then applied a Bronze Powder Metal coating to get the “Rust” look. It’s also weatherproofs it in case I want to stick it out on somebody’s grave.

We saw a big steampunk display/museum in Oamaru a small town in New Zealand’s South Island in January 2020, your piece would have fitted right in.
