Still trying to perfect the rolling pin. This is a gift for my daughter who is a zookeeper taking care of ring tailed lemurs at the zoo in DC. I was working on the black and white theme, and trying to get the stripes he same width, and getting the final pin to the dimensions I was looking for I wrote a couple blog entries about the tradeoffs: https://www.lumberjocks.com/BillGo/blog/132204. It is 20” long, 1.8” diameter in the middle section, and tapered starting 4” from the ends to 1.3” diameter on the ends. It is sanded to 220 grit so it holds flour. One coat of mineral oil for the finish.

I was going to cut off the marks left by the lathe anchors on the ends, but decided they make the pin interesting, and so I decided to highlight them instead.

Thanks guys! It is interesting to turn, as the more you take off, the thinner the black lines of the pattern get.
