To make my project I got separate strips of walnut, oak, and mahogany and glued them together face down. Then cut them again so that each strip had a piece of different wood in it and glued those strips together upright. After gluing I squared each side of my board and routed in handles to pick up my board. I sanded the whole thing and finished it off with several coats of mineral oil.

Accurate cuts, and a nice glue up will get you tight looking boards like that. Nice work.

I always love how you can design unique designs by playing with the grain of the woods.
