Bookcase and upper cabinets installed. We decided to just do led lights in the bookcase for now, but we might add more in the future. The Hafele system is expensive, but the modular design is super easy to work with so I think it makes it worth it. I was originally going to put the power supply in the base cabinets and have the power switch under the peninsula, but when we decided to go with the granite tops I decided to make a design change and put it up in the soffit. In order to make it accessible I made a drop down panel with some touch latches that I got from Rockler, and I am thrilled with how it turned out. When it is closed you can not tell that it is an access panel. For now the on/off switch is under the left upper cabinet. I might add the BLE box which would allow me to control it with a phone app, but that’s another $100 so for now the push switch will suffice.

You did a great job and the color works well with the design and contracts nicely with the granite.

The contrast looks even better in person. I was originally going to do a live edge or plank top, but when I mentioned to my wife about possibly granite, she said absolutely. When we went to our stone counter top supplier nothing really grabbed us until they showed us the very last stack. We both fell in love with it immediately so I guess it was meant to be.
