My wife and I have friends that enjoy wine and are really into birding. As a thank you for all that they have done for us this past year I built this Swan Wine Basket. It is made out of reclaimed lumber from our Sunday School Classroom redo and Baltic Birch Plywood. It is finished with an oil-based enamel for durability, and the bottom is sanded smooth with a Pecan stain applied to it along with an inscription thanking them for their kindnesses.
I saw a swan tray / basket at our favorite Bed & Breakfast in San Antonio, which is the last photo and it inspired me to build this. As with every project I learned something new building this basket; it is the first time I created a mold to laminate and bend wood.

Matt, of course I worked on this today, it took me two days to complete including the paint drying time. No worries about the weather, my workshop is climate controlled on it’s own seperate system, you just gotta love model homes where the garage was the builders office!
