Jewelry box for my wife. This was originally supposed to be a Christmas present, but ended up being a slightly early Valentines day present instead.

This project included a lot of firsts for me. It was my first time cutting through case dovetails, half bind dovetails, making and installing side-hung drawers and inlaying drawer pulls. The case and drawer fronts are made out of walnut, while the drawer sides and backs are birdseye maple and the drawer pulls are ebony. Box is finished in shellac and wax. Walnut also includes two coats of Watco Danish Oil beneath the Shellac.

Thanks for looking!

That’s pretty tough! Nice work and excellent joinery.

Beautiful work. I am sure it was well received, even if it was late.
