Shed Shop premier Astromech Pen Holder! I started this project when I first moved into our townhouse. My power tools consisted of my Makita drill set, and circular saw. I turned this using my drill in a jig to make it work like a lathe, and sandpaper. Yes, I said I turned this with sandpaper! I knocked the corners down with my circular, the excruciatingly slowly worked my way through grits…my advice? Get a lathe.
I found the maple at Rockler (only place I had found to get hardwood at the time) and used branded jenga pieces for the legs, and generic jenga style blocks for the feet.
Gifted to my homie at the dispensary for his vape in pens, since we are both Star Wars geeks.

Nice work on the R2-D2 wood version. Goes to show you don’t need a lathe… but imagine what you could do it you did.
