Video was great. Really cool design. Did you use expoxy to glue it up? Finish? Do we get to see it with the cushions in place.

Thanks Jamie, I used T-88 epoxy for the first time and I like how it performed. The clean up was great and its somewhat flexible and fills small voids well. The finish is Watco Danish Oil “Dark Walnut”. I did 2 coats and let them soak in per the can, and will go over it once again this week before finishing the cushions.
I actually upholstered the cushions already, (my first time upholstering) but I didn’t get them as tight as I wanted, so I am waiting on a new staple gun, (BAE) and will redo them hopefully this weekend. Ill post a video and pictures for that when its all finished.

Thanks Cal and Dick, I had a great time building these benches, and learning how to shoot video while I build. It was something I thought would be a pain in the, ahem…process, and it can be, but after doing it a few times it is pretty fun. this is only my 12th video and I have a lot to learn, but its worth it for me. Thanks again for commenting.
The benches are for my cousin’s dining room table that was custom built for her Grandmother a number of years ago, and I took the basic curve from its legs and made that the basis of my design. I also love working with Walnut, and made hand cutting dovetails a joy. I bought a massive up-spiral 1/2” shank panel bit for this and it was pretty scary the first time I used it sticking up 2.5” above my router lift. I also used some Starbond to fill some Walnut voids and think it works great, so a couple firsts with this one which makes it even better.

Thanks folks, I really appreciate your comments. Oscars cat walk became a necessary after a couple failed jumps. He’s 15-16 yo, we aren’t exactly sure, but he has been our shop cat and constant supervisor for 14 years after we took him in as a stray running around in the woods behind our house.
