I started early making Valentines Day gifts for the great granddaughters. The heart with the hole in it is a rattle for the little one. Photos 3 and 4 are shots of how it started. The other heart has 2 magnets in it because the older one loves things with magnets in them and that is why Mr Peanut has a magnet in the bottom. The last shot is of the first 3 Mr Peanuts I made for the lady across the street. She gave me the idea.
The hearts are made from mahogany and finished with Danish Oil and buffed and waxed. The Mr Peanuts are made from pecan wood and finished with semi gloss enamel.
Cheers, Jim

It took me a minute but I figured out the rattle. I was thinking of a traditional one. haha. Very nice and different.
I absolutely think Mr peanut is tops. Reminds me of the old peanut banks when we were kids. Great job. Give that lady across the street a tip.

Very nice Jim, I bet they go down a treat.
-- Bob, Western Australia, The Sun came up this morning, what a great start to the day. Now it's up to me to make it even better. I've cut this piece of wood 4 times and it's still too damn short.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I put 4 ball bearing balls in the rattle. I could not find any without having to order 50 so I found an old bicycle wheel and took out the ring of bearings and now I have some spares.
Hi Bruce, I had to get them done early because the mail is getting unreliable at times and I wanted to make sure they got back to Michigan on time.
Cheers, Jim
