Mesquite can have such excellent colors and grain, perfect for presentation in turned object, but it can be ornery to work with. You nailed this one, but I’d be afraid of it exploding if I tried to get it that thin!

Beautiful bowl, Ron. I have yet to find a burl on a mesquite tree…that was a big one. I must look in Texas!!

Jim my mesquite burls come from Wendy Williams in Kingsville Tx. She has burls as big as a small car. Reasonable too.
