I built this cutting board in the Wahoo High School woods class. I made it out of walnut and white birch. I used 6 coats of mineral oil.

Hi Star_22, two nice looking boards you’ve made. I used oil on my first few boards, then switched to a beeswax/oil butcher block finish. Much easier, less mess.

Well done their. Cutting boards are lots of fun. I use General Finishes Bowl finish. I like the waxy finish and feel it’s better for protecting the board from absorbing fluids that could go rancid later.

good looking board – mineral oil and bees wax seem to be the go to finishes for boards, I use them both.
