I built this clock based on plans I saw in Popular Woodworking. The dark wood was supposed to be walnut but I didn’t have any so I used some really dark poplar and stained it. The reddish-orange wood is padauk. The light wood is hard maple. I got the clock face, hands and mechanism from www.klockit.com.

This project was built expressly for a local charity auction. Would you believe it fetched $105!

Thanks Bob. It’s not hard to make either. Joinery is dowel pins.

Really nice, I love it. I’m thinking of making a mantle clock soon so this gives me some good ideas.

Have your say...
