This is my take on a Gio Ponti mid century side table. It’s Iroko with shellac over danish oil.

Thanks guys,

It’s my first “real” furniture piece for the house. Up til now I’ve just done kind of utilitarian stuff small things, and build out my shop.

The design is interesting. I admired the joinery, but when I saw it by itself, I didn’t care for it much (thinking it was more like a console) but then seeing it by the couch, I really like it. It looks great there.

Great job. Reminds me of Danish modern. I have an old 60’s end table in teak that has a similar bottom just without the extra top. That Gio Ponti carries some real modern interesting stuff.
