This lure is 27” long an weighs about 20 lbs. Its made from basswood. The Bill is 1/16” thick aluminum that i made and I also made the hook hanger out of aluminum. The hooks are real hooks made by Mustad, they are 20/0 hooks. The lure was airbrushed and it has 23 coats of lacquer. I am making another jitterbug lure and i have been doing a step by step blog as i make it.

-- Have a great day.

That’s going to scare every fish out of the lake! Really cool.

I like it! It takes big lures to catch big fish!

Aside from my mother in-law, there aren’t many creatures with a mouth that can handle a lure of that size.

Wow!

MAN OVERBOARD!!!
That is last thing I would hear if I was holding the rod when a fish bites that lure.

Man, that came out nice. The craftsmanship from metal to wood is outstanding! Imagine if we had a fish that also scaled to that size.
Thanks for posting this build. Amazing.. .really!

The new one is even more impressive.

-- The smell of wood, coffee in the cup, the wife let's me do my thing, the lake is peaceful.
