Just a simple coat rack for our entry foyer, of a design based on dozens of images found on the web. I used a flexed strip of wood to scribe the arc; not a true circular arc, but it’s pleasing to my eye. The decorative square tenon pegs are ebony from piano keys that I salvaged years ago. The mounting screws for the rack are hidden behind 2 of the iron hooks, which I found online from Kennedy Hardware.
A non-woodworking friend asked how I made the square holes for the arts & crafts “motif” in the center. I told him a square drill, of course. I don’t think he believed me.
I also made the doorbell cover seen above the coat rack a long time ago, maybe 20 years or so. I’m thinking I should refinish it to better match the coat rack.

Very eye catching.
Well done.

good looking coat rack. And you matched the doorbell really well for being 20 years later!

Steve, your design is terrific: the arc, the 4 cutouts, materials. VERY WELL DONE. Thanks for sharing.
Where did the coat rack hardware come from. They’re very nice too.

Thank you for the nice comments, I appreciate them.
BigMig- The hooks are from kennedyhardware.com. They have an extensive selection of, in their words, restoration hardware that usually won’t be seen in local stores

Love it – simple and cleanly done. You used a mortising bit for those square holes, right?
