Shop Storage Cabinet

I really need to get my shop more organized and create some good, usable storage. This cabinet is the start of a handful of shop storage projects and overall shop organization strategy. It’s more fancy than need be but I like to try new things on shop projects just to hone my, still rather rudimentary, skills. Hope you all like it.

I made a video but for some reason Lumberjocks is blocking the posting of videos as far as I can tell.

Beautiful work. Having your stuff organized is such a game changer. You know where stuff is, and once you get used to putting it back every time when done just makes things go so much smoother.

You mentioned future cabinets. Try making your own bins for small parts storage. Make them removable and you can take say a bin of screws right to the job. When done put bin back.

Thank you. Yeah, I plan on making all kinds of small parts bins. I just got a 3d printer and will hopefully be employing that in the process. Lots left to do though!

Thanks! Yeah, That’s really handy. I haven’t taken the time yet to actually organize everything aside from my camera equipment. I kinda just threw stuff where it would be easily accessible until I finish all of the cabinets. I have a grand plan in mind that I will implement once I get everything completed. Long process!

I don’t have a 3d printer so I made 2 ft long tubes of 1/4 plywood and cut at 45. Glued up and ended up with this.

Then cut down to size and glued bottoms on.

And here we have matched sized bins.

That thing is terrible, but I’ll take care of it for you….just leave it in the drive. LOL
That is seriously well done…..great design and execution!

Ah nice. That’s a good approach for boxes like that.

Wow, great project, might have to steal your ideas for my own shop. Just starting to get it organized.
