This Shaker style console table was built for a customer that was referred to me by one of my former cadets from the US Air Force Academy. This will be used as retirement shadow box for her and her husband.

It is built from a single 8/4 piece of soft maple and a little left over cherry for the drawer bottom and turn button. The wood came from Jubilee Specialty Wood Products. The aprons are attached to the legs with sliding dovetail mortises. The drawer glides smoothly on dovetail slides. And the drawer pull is from Horton Brasses Inc. and was ordered the initial day of release (Veterans’ Day). 36”L x 18”D x 32”H The legs taper from 1-3/4”” over the top 5” to 1-1/8” at the bottom. Although not shown, there is 1/4” plate glass to protect the memorabilia that the client will mount.

The finish is Maker Brand Simple Finish which is an oil/wax blend and it truly lives up to the name.
