This is the last and my favorite of my christmas projects. A fishing buddy obsessed with trout fishing asked my to made some kind of wood clock with a trout theme. This was a good opportunity to make my first intarsia project. It was a simple design using various pieces of birds eye maple. Large b eye dyes for the fins and small B eye, and cherry for the body. A little tiger maple for the top and bottom. A simple clock and a strip of mahogany moulding to frame it up. I would have liked to make it more of a true intarsia by continuing the sanding to create a more 3D effect and look less blocklike. I ran out of time. He was thrilled and was a lot more than he was expecting.

Very nicely done. I like the intarsia trout. I have to admit that time often dictates what i do on my projects too. I’m sure your friend will like this.
