Made as a going-away gift for a very special pastor. Mahogany base with a spalted sycamore lid and walnut plugs (I know, they aren’t square in the true Greene and Greene style). The sycamore was harvested from a former Maryland State Champion tree that fell on church member’s property. The altered Top Gun photo is a bit of an inside joke. The walnut placard is engraved with Jeremiah 11:29. Finished with shellac.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

That’s beautiful. I really like the Greene and Greene look with the soft edges.

Am an admirer of Greene and Greene styles. Your box is great.

Nice work, the rounded corners on the joints are a time consuming detail to do and to do right!

It turned out great!!!
Beautiful woods and classic design. The wood really shines in this piece.
Terrific work.

Whether I did them correctly or not, Micro Zip sanders were extremely useful for getting in there.
