Yesterday I was trying to think of another gift that I could make for our 12 year old granddaughters for Christmas and I came across this web site in a search called American Girl Doll Ideas

They had free plans for a desk for 18” American Girl Doll’s. So I got to work and found that I had enough scraps or cut off’s to make two of these desks for our granddaughters I got them built and painted and shipped them out this morning.

I already sent them American Girl Doll bunk beds and they are under their tree now so if these desks don’t make it for Christmas that’s ok UPS said they should arrive on the 23rd.

No special joinery just butt and glue and shot with an 18 gauge nail.
They seem very sturdy! Oh did I mention that I hate painting! ;(

They are going to love them Dad. They “play school” with the dolls all the time. We encourage them to be the teacher and the dolls are the students as a fun way to review their homework and study materials.

Don’t know whether you wear trackie dacks or jocks, but we seem to share the same jeans.

Tony, not only are they great looking they but it’s a perfect addition to add to their set. Gr8HUNTER is right, more ideas will come to you. I think a couple Adirondack chairs are in order. After a school session they can relax in the sun. I’m looking at the layout of pieces and laughing. I do the same thing when a project is going to be painted. Use up what I have.
And look here Picasso I may have called you MR Brush at one time but that’s it. Very nice work da Vinci

Painting is many phobias below my love of tooth extraction without giggle juice.

Thanks Tony! Hahaha I have plenty of paint but hesitate to use it. I get more on me than I do on my project! LOL!

Thanks Dave! Wow! Picasso and then Mr. Brush and now da Vinci! I like your Adirondack chair idea! How much would you charge me to paint them? LOL!

Thanks Pottz! Looks like I was wrong about posting painted work! Sometimes I just need a push and I’m happy to say you gave me courage! Oh…. and I’m not sure about Dave he’s doing his best to get me to make more things to paint! LOL!
