This is a table my brother and I made for our mom. She asked for a piece of wood with knots and character. We figured this would do. The construction of the top is pretty simple since it’s a single of fir with walnut bowties. During the project we decided to fill the cracks with epoxy since they would certainly build up with dist and gunk during use. The stain is a Saman NGR I think but don’t quite remember.

The base was the difficult part. It was 1”x1/8” steel that was welded and spray painted. My father in law is a welder so I got some good practice.

Hope you guys like it, I know our mom will.

Nice work on the top and the base. The colors all look good together.
