I made my stepstool my sophomore year of high school in woods 1. It took a whole semester, total of five months, to create all the pieces and put the project together. To put the pieces together, I combined two pieces of wood with biscuit joints. Using pocket holes to finally screw the legs, top, and sides together. The material I chose for my project was hard maple. For the top of the stool, my class and I used CNC router bits to carve designs into our boards. I chose to do a v-carve of the name Brook on the top of my stool. Finally, I used a water-based polycrylic to seal the deal. Doing one coat on the inside, two or three on the outside, and multiple on the top.

Your Step Stool Looks great. I remember making one when my oldest daughter had a pair of twins and I made a stool for them.

Be proud of your stool and welcome to the “World of Woodworking”. I’ve been doing it for about 60 years.

Great job laying out the biscuits so that the CNC cuts didn’t hit them and show through to the surface.
