I made this in school. It is made out of hickory. I used a CNC router to carve out “Robinson”. Then I put a water-based polycrylic gloss on it.

Your Step Stool Looks great. I remember making one when my oldest daughter had a pair of twins and I made a stool for them.

Be proud of your stool and welcome to the “World of Woodworking”. I’ve been doing it for about 60 years.

Smart choice joining the sapwood on the top. It really helps hide the glue line and makes it look like it came from a single board. It really makes the CNC carving stand out as well. Great work!

The top really makes your stool unique, great job. Deserve an A+ for the class and the stool. Made one myself 65 years ago in shop class, it’s still around as will be yours.
