Way back in August I decided to make a home made Christmas for many family and friends. I quickly found out I had quite a task ahead. I began making screwdrivers for the men in the family. This project has already been posted and since then I had to add to them. I now have 15 of them done and ready to wrap. I then began making boxes for the ladies. Originally they were all to be the same but Mr. Murphy decided to help and I had to make a recovery on several. I just finished them and now they are ready to wrap. Many will be delivered here but others will be going from Las Vegas to New York! I really put a lot of work in making these. Most of the wood is harvested from my Sisters yard. My BIL began using an Alaskan saw mill and brought me some cherry, and walnut. I also had some silver maple ready and a little box elder. As a touch I acquired some ambrosia maple. There are too many to describe each one but I hope from the sample you can see how they are. I’ll add a few more and Merry Christmas everyone!

Note: This is something I have always wanted to do and considering how bad 2020 is, I thought this would be the perfect year.

The boxes are beautiful and I know the ladies will be thrilled to have them.

Nicely done, Jeff! The box elder is especially eye-catching, but they’re all nice.

Those are really cool – love the patterns and variations. The boxes look great and what a good way to use up shorts/scraps we all seem to accumulate but rarely use. Very nice.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I appreciate them. A lot of work went into these but I feel it is worth it. I just wish I had time to do even more. As I said in the OP, this is something I have always wanted to do. 2020 seemed like the perfect year to do this. Bring some joy with my wood work. I even enclosed a letter with each item, box and screwdrivers saying how much I wanted to do this this year.

Jeff, Knocked it out of the park on these. Love the contrasts and that one with the flaming box elder looks awesome. I am sure all of the recipients will find them a great gift.

I remember it as 12 drummers drumming not 12 boxes boxing. Beautiful array of boxes Jeff. I like the style and the wood shows well on all of them. What finish did you use?
