I made the border of little triangles (each about 6mm high)
so many years ago that I cannot recall for what I was making it.
Was “too good to throw away” all this time,
and in late 2019 I decided that a triangle-border goes with a hexagonal box,
and since I was also doing a lot with tiling patterns then,
selected one that is almost-hexagonal. The pattern can go on forever,
but for this lid, it seemed best to just stop it at 7 rings.
- dark Red Mahogany (wish I had big pieces)
- medium probably walnut, and
- light jacaranda.
So the tiling-pattern on the lid has the same woods.
Box body is walnut, and is about 20cm across.

Dang!
Thats some sweet work! The triangles work really well.
Cool tile pattern and great woods for a cool box.
